Preserving Bible Times (PBT) is a faith-based ministry with a vision for preserving and presenting Biblical Truth and meaning through integrating the Biblical text with its visual, historical, geographical and cultural context.
PBT uses its extensive image archives of photographic and motion images of Bible Times, together with many years of primary research into Biblical context, to
- Provide teacher and pastor training on contextually understanding the Bible at our Residential Learning Center as well as “Bible Alive,” “Making Disciples Jesus’ Way,” “The Bible and the Land” conferences in churches to re-energize the pew.
- Provide a series of publications dealing with aspects of biblical context, e.g., books, CD’s, workbooks, DVD media resources, that highlight the contextual issues found in “familiar” passages of Scripture so that the Bible can come alive in fresh and new ways to transform hearts and minds for Christ in this generation.
- Be an educational resource to publishers, documentary film producers, news organizations, authors, etc., on issues of contextual integrity of the Biblical record.
- Share portions of its photographic and video archives with scholars, educators, teachers and preachers everywhere. A good example would be our “Above Israel” DVD series features never-before-available aerial footage of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Dead Sea, The Galilee, The Negev, the Shephelah and the Coastal Region.
