“David on the Run” …with Doug Greenwold

January 25, 2019 by Jim Park

In I Samuel 16, God directs Samuel to anoint David to be the future king of Israel. If we had been David and God had given us a preview into what the next ten years would bring, our reaction might have been: “That’s not an appropriate career development plan for a king! And I’m not sure I want to sign up for that kind of journey.” If that thought intrigues you as you ponder God’s plans for your life, I think you will find this video Reflection …of David on the run for ten years …fascinating!

“Still Waters” …with Doug Greenwold

November 10, 2018 by Jim Park

In Psalm 23:2b, David praises the Good Shepherd for leading me to still (quiet) waters. This video Reflection filmed at the recent “Shepherds, Flocks and Kings” Conference contextually digs into the significance of still waters. It was part of an afternoon session which contextually restored key parts of each verse of Psalm 23. I think you will be amazed, reassured and comforted by what is contextually embedded in those two reassuring words – still waters.

“Living in the Land of Milk & Honey” …with Doug Greenwold

September 11, 2018 by Jim Park

Can you recall your initial reaction to first hearing the phrase “the land of milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8)? What might that have initially evoked in your mind – a miniature Garden of Eden, a fabulous oasis? As regards Israel, nothing could be further from the truth! This video Reflection contextually digs into this “land of milk and honey” phrase. It starts by progressively visiting this land from the north, then traveling to the central part of this country (Samaria) and ends by visiting Beersheba in the Northern Negev.

What we surprisingly discover is that this ancient phrase comes with an embedded challenge for how we live today, which makes it very contemporary. See if you agree as Doug teaches in this excerpt from the 2018 Institute of Biblical Context Annual Summer Conference on “Shepherds, Flocks and Kings”!

“Sheepology” …with Doug Greenwold

July 6, 2018 by Jim Park

A.W. Tozer felt that the most important thing about a person was their view of God. That view shapes everything about that person as well as their faith journey. Unfortunately, most of us have either a flawed or an incomplete view of God. This video entitled “The Importance of a Sheepish Perspective” suggests a key perspective that will help you refine your view of God as well as have a more accurate view of yourself. It was presented at the 2018 Institute of Biblical Context Annual Summer Conference on “Shepherds, Flocks and Kings” and is the first of many videos we plan to be adding to the PBT website.
