In this extract from a 2015 teaching at Trinity Bible Church in Lafayette, Louisiana, Doug Greenwold explains how slavery was integral to the Roman Empire, often the only path to freedom, and how the Apostle Paul capitalized on slavery as well as on other Roman cultural normatives to tailor the foundation of his infant urban Christian church and, moreover, how it applies to us today.
